My wife and I took our first trip to Barbados in November 2017 and I arranged for my dialysis to be at SILS Barbados. We were in need of nice uneventful vacation as I had a lot of medical problems in the previous 6-8 months. Right from the start of making the arrangements, SILS was excellent. They were always prompt at returning emails and took care of every detail, right down to making arrangements for me to be picked up and dropped off for my treatments (for a reasonable taxi rate). The unit is clean and comfortable and offers wifi that supports streaming, so I was able to watch Netflix to kill the time when I wasn't sleeping. The unit provides some food and a warm or cold drink. If you get really hungry on dialysis, bring your own snacks as well. One of the best things about this unit is that they offer a 530am shift. If you love the beach like I do, it means you are in and out of dialysis and on the beach by 11am and you are there for the rest of the day.

While I was on dialysis, my wife did some snorkeling and scuba with G Fish Watersports (www.gfishbarbados.com) and had an excellent time. G Fish is located about a 25 minute walk from the dialysis unit.

All in all, this is a great unit and Barbados is a lovely island. I have no problem recommending this unit to travelling hemodialysis patients.

I have recently been on holiday to Barbados, my favourite holiday destination in all of the world and this time Sils looked after my needs. I had been to Island Dialysis in the past. Anyway, Jules and her team are simply the best. I am always anxious as I have a Tesio Line and not the normal fistula. I need not have worried at all.

It was the small things that really impressed me as well as their thorough professionalism. It was the way the nurse helped a man with very bad eyesight to his chair. It was clearly done in such a way that was comfortable for the man and the nurse. I thought that was amazing. So many times I have seen poorly sighted patients have their arm grabbed and have been disorientated. This nurse was wonderful and I could tell the patient trusted her. As for myself, it was noted I was a bit uncomfortable in the chair so Jules provided me with a pillow. The next time of dialysis, the pillow was always there. Fantastic anticipation of a patients' needs.

Jules is very accommodating, replies promtptly to emails and I can see has very good rapport with staff there. It is a happy place, patients joking, nurses laughing, AND the nurses are very attentive and professional. IT shows! Well done Sils, I am coming back as soon as I have saved enough for my next holiday.

I utalised SILS Dialysis for two days of dialysis treatments for my 15 year old son on our last vacation to Barbados in August 2014.

Prior to arriving in Barbados I conducted my research and sent out communication to a few centers on the island. I was pleasantly surprised by the professional and efficient responses I received from Jules in arranging all that we needed to make this happen. The customer service was exceptional (email reminders, telephone calls from Jules and transport arrangement) which assisted greatly in easing my anxiety as this was our first overseas treatment experience.

My son's experience was very positive. The equipment and facilities were clean and comfortable and the staff very welcoming. This truly enabled my family to enjoy our short vacation knowing that my son's needed medical care was availabe and in such a professional manner.

I would strongly recommend SILS Dialysis for your care. My fears about going on a vacation with a child on dialysis were dispelled thanks to the care and suppport we got from SILS Dialysis.
