It's Free Fishing weekend in Alberta -- and that means you don't need a licence to take the kids out and put a couple of lines in the water. Environment and Sustainable Resource Development does this twice a year: ESRD Spokesman Blaine Burke says free fishing weekend is a great way to introduce the family to the joys of angling. "Any resident of Alberta can go out and fish in any open body of water that's already open for fishing, and of course that excludes national parks. And all regulations apply."
