The Hindu.com: A team led by the Queensland University of Technology found that the turkey tail mushroom was 100 per cent effective in suppressing prostate tumour development in laboratory mice during early trials, the ‘PLoS One’ journal reported. The compound, polysaccharopeptide (PSP), which is extracted from the turkey tail mushroom, was found to target prostate cancer stem cells and suppress tumour formation in mice, according to lead scientist Dr Patrick Ling.

Health Day News: In a new study, a team from Duke University Medical Center reviewed the cases of 845 patients who had had surgery for kidney cancer -- or renal cell carcinoma -- between 2000 and 2009. They found that current and former smokers were 1.5 to 1.6 times more likely to have advanced cancer than nonsmokers.

After a long search for the source of Gleevec resistance in this form of ALL by the team at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), it appears that BCL6 is the fundamental mediator of that resistance, he explains.
