RICHMOND Legislators are considering allocating $250,000 in state funds to help a former Smithfield police officer to pay for the cost of a liver transplant. Kurt Beach, who contracted Hepatitis C while giving CPR to an infant while on duty, will likely die if he doesn’t receive a liver transplant soon, according to testimony at a House Appropriations subcommittee meeting today. |
